Rustic re-claimed railway sleepers used to retain a raised lawn.

   
 

     

Tanalised 4 inch round poles used as a retaining wall, steps and supporting a rope handrail.

 

Sleepers on this wall are laid on their side for additional strength. Each course is stepped back by one inch from the course below.

This project was necessary to transform a sloping garden into a split level landscape, allowing for a level lawn and a lower area for the usual garden utilities - all hidden from sight.
